The first author, in an effort to unpack these different meanings in relation to ontological and epistemological understandings of the world and how knowledge is produced, interviewed individuals from both professions that interact with "data" and individuals from the general population. We unpack some of the preliminary findings prior to proposing an intervention that suggests providing more clarity and background in the process of using and displaying "data".},
